The Yoga That I Teach

No doubt you have seen yoga magazine pictures with men and women twisted into what look like impossible-to-get-into pretzel shapes. This is not the yoga that I practice or the yoga that I teach. I teach gentle forms of yoga that emphasize breath control to relax the mind; I teach gentle stretches that help to increase flexibility, build strength, and release stress, while at the same time moving in a slow flow of intentional movement to avoid injury. I also teach meditation and Yoga Nidra (Yoga Sleep), a very deep form of meditation. One hour of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to eight hours of REM sleep. My primary goal is to have you, my student, leave my small group or private yoga classes feeling relaxed and ready for whatever comes next.

My niche is teaching women in their 40s and 50s, primarily. If you are in this group, or somewhere near it, I want you to experience that you can feel great in your body and your mind, even if you have not exercised in a long time. I want you to know that yoga is for every body, not just limber ones.

Below are a few testimonials:

“I really am grateful for you and for this (yoga) class. And I like your focus on being grateful. So important especially right now.”

I have been going to Just B Yoga by Betsy Paul since 2013. I love the small class size and Betsy's willingness to help us work on areas of our bodies that need focusing on. Class pace is great and if you are uncertain about a pose, whether it be due to limitations or not knowing correct posturing, Betsy will give you variations of that pose, or suggest a different pose altogether so there is never a feeling like "you can't do that pose" I look forward to her Saturday gently vinyasa flow classes every week.

Taking yoga with Betsy has helped me learn how to relax and stretch. I’m a runner and taking Betsy’s class has helped me through several injuries. I always leave relaxed.

Relaxed, friendly, stress free, accepting environment. Betsy has lots of current training and certifications. The Saturday morning class is a great way to start the weekend!
